More than 20,000 runners will converge on the streets of Dallas for the 43rd running of the MetroPCS Dallas Marathon on Sunday. The race begins at 8:05 a.m. from Market and Main streets following a military fly-over, fireworks and confetti.

Weather will be warm, windy and humid. There will be mostly cloudy skies with temperatures in the mid-60s at race start and expected to rise into the low 70s by early afternoon. Humidity will be as high as 80 percent with 14 mph winds. The arctic cold front, forecast to arrive Sunday afternoon, isn’t expected to hit until most runners are finished.

An elite marathon field of 24 men and 10 women will lead the way. The new course will showcase a stretch of revitalized West Dallas, the iconic Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, the race beneficiary.
