Anselmi: "Brian will not have direct authority over hockey operations... this will allow (us) to benefit from his hockey expertise."
Burke found out only today he was let go. Had been big part of CBA negotiations.
Talk around league is that Burke's ties with Bettman will allow him to find position with league or another team in near future.
Nonis: "We have improved over the last 48 months, but we have some work to do."

Nonis did an okay job in Vancouver. Not great, not poor. His failing there IMO was he was far too cautious in improving his team.
