One final shot, of the team gathered onstage. As you might be able to see, some of the players brought their kids along. A folksy touch.

A little more on the pep rally
At least a couple of Argos players addressed the fact that the team isn't usually in the limelight like it is this week. Coach Scott Milanovich even said directly that the team's fans don't get the attention they deserve.Talking to fans at the square last night, the fact that the team and the league are often overshadowed by hockey actually seemed to be part of the appeal. Virtually everyone I met had a story about meeting the players on the street or partying with the team at a bar or mingling with them at a practice. They all described CFL players as much more approachable than their counterparts in other leagues. And it's true the CFL has retained some of the feel the other leagues lost in the era of big revenues -- many players still earn regular-guy salaries, for instance. The other big appeal of the CFL is that its entirely Canadian. Some Argos fans even admitted they really care who wins Sunday. They were just happy to see two Canadian teams compete for a championship, something that hasn't happened in the North American major leagues in more than 20 years..
